With Captain Ed you have your choice of trips: choose from two types of boats or stay on shore to fish. Remember all of our trips are custom—so let us know your interests.
Old School Charters most popular trip heads out into Cape Cod Bay from Rock Harbor in Eastham aboard Mar F/V, a 30′ Black Watch Sportfisherman. Target fish species on these trips include striped bass, bluefish, bluefin tuna, tautog, summer flounder (fluke), black bass, and scup. Ed also maintains lobster pots in the Bay so a stop to pull them up is usually part of the trip.
The boat comfortably holds up to 6 people with plenty of room to fish, or just relax and take in the sights. Trips aboard Mar are offered June through October and the rate is $100.00 per hour for all trips with a 3 hour minimum.
If you want to fish in Pleasant Bay, Nauset Marsh or close to the shoreline in Cape Cod Bay (where the fish hang out) Ed runs his 14’ Quintrex aluminum boat. This trip is perfect for 1 or 2 people looking to access the shallows, tidal creeks, and marshes to catch stripers and bluefish. The boat is easily to trailer so we put in where the fish are!
This boat is also perfect for freshwater ponds where bass, trout, and salmon are among the freshwater species we target. A Massachusetts Fishing License is required for freshwater fishing.
We use light-tackle only on these trips which we provide (spinning rods), or you can bring your own. You are also welcome to bring your own fly rod.
