Captain Ed CestaroWhen Ed was 5 years old his dad moved his family to Cape Cod after he caught a monster striper in Cape Cod Canal. Ed has lived in Eastham since then and he fishes constantly, both commercially and recreationally, learning all of the “old school” secrets from some of the best fishermen on the Cape.

capeHe earned his 100-ton captain’s license in 1999 from the (USCG License # 893072). He has also captained boats for Mass Audubon and UMASS conducting sea turtle and horseshoe crab research. Ed enjoys sharing his “old school” knowledge about the Cape and passion for fishing. Experienced fishermen, casual vacationers, or a family looking to get outside and try something new will all appreciate their time fishing with Captain Ed.

Ed also owns and manages Cestaro Estate Management, a family-run property management company for Eastham and Outer Cape homeowners. Click here for more details.

Melissa Lowe Cestaro: Because Ed does not enjoy any tasks associated with a “desk job,” his wife Melissa helps him book trips and market Old School Charters. She rarely gets out on the water, preferring the woods instead! She is a professional environmental educator and has worked for Mass Audubon and other conservation organizations since 1991. Among her interests are hiking with her dogs, horseback riding, bicycling, swimming, gardening and reading.
